Recently I recieved a request for a custom order where the client asked if I could come up with designs for 4 necklaces that were made from her old broaches! I was so excited by this opportunity to take something old and create a new design with it. The broaches were sent to me and I went to work right away! First I drew up the designs:
| This was the design I came up with for the first broach, it is an adaption of a picture the Client wanted it to look like. |
| This design I came up with for a Saftey Pin broach the client sent, she mentioned wanting it to look like a charm bracelet for a necklace. Its made up of keys, locks and rhinestones. |
| This broach I had two ideas for. The client chose the other design but Im going to use this soon so look for it for purchase on the Tweaks website soon! |
| This is the one the Client chose, its made of purple pearls and crystals. |
After gathering all the materials needed to create the necklaces I got to work right away and started on two of the 4.
| Here is the first part of the last design I worked on, It took me a couple tries and I played with a few techniques but I liked this best |
| I used a tin backing with holes and used clear wire, I knotted the wire together after positioning each crystal and pearl. then when I was done with the cluster I singed the plastic wire knots with a lighter so they would not unravel. |
| Here is the finished cluster. |
| What it will likely look like... |
| I had to do two clusters on each side of the focal broach. |
| Next I worked on a beautiful butterfly broach, I bought hotstick rhinestones that you apply with a hot applicator tool, but did not have any luck with that! |
| Instead I used an epoxy glue It dries kinda quick so I had to keep mixing new gobs of it to use, I applied the glue with the end of a toothpick. This was more tedious that I expected and it took an hour to apply them all, needless to say I was frustrated and glad to be done when I was! |
| The Epoxy glue I used. |
| So pretty! |
| All done thank God! |
